Hunter's Hope has been delayed due to me losing my Grandfather, my horse, and my dog all in one month! It has been tough! But I am having Hunter's Hope back up and running real soon! Thanks for viewing!!!

My other Dachsund Is having Back troubles also....

My Dachsund Batista is having back troubles just like Scrappy. He can't use the bathroom by himself. I over heard my mom last night saying he might not be around much longer. She also said that she may have to get him put to sleep. I will pray for him

Well It rained over the weekend so i couldn't go collect donations... But I did get a new Basset Hound named: Molly. She is beautiful! Burrito will be coming in about 9 days! I'm so excited!

How do you think those animals in shelters feel?

They are waiting for a comfy home. With nice family members and a nice bed and food that will be best for their scrawny little stomachs. I want to change that all. I want those animals to have a chance to live a regular dog's or cat's life. If not they will die in that shelter because the shelter people put them to sleep before they even get a chance to live a life! I am going to change it all. Thank you for agreeing with me.

My new Chihuahua!

I'm getting a new chihuahua on March 24th! His name will be Burrito! He is brown. We currently have one chihuahua right now named Taco. The chihuahua we are getting is his brother! I got to go now so see you all viewers!

Well today is a good day, And I hope it doesn't rain or snow! Which I think it won't because its so warm outside. Let's keep praying for great weather!

 These are my horses that we got from a place that i didn't want them in. It wasn't the ladies fault but they were standing in knee deep mud and lived in some kind of box. Now they leave in a clean open pasture with a clean stall. I know it wasn't  her fault she had heart problems and couldn't care for them.

Big Jim's Success Story

To understand the story of how Big Jim found his way from the 2008 floods in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to his new home, you have to know a little bit about Jack. While he’s just 11 years old, he is, apparently, already a master at the art of negotiation. Jack saw Big Jim’s photo on our website and knew he was the perfect dog. So, Jack wrote up a contract, promising to take full responsibility for Big Jim’s care. Then he signed the document and taped it up on the door to the garage where his parents would see it right when they got home. Jack knew it was pretty special that Big Jim was rescued from the floods and brought to Minnesota. Jack wanted to be the one to give the little dachshund his new start. Jack was persistent, and his whole “contract strategy” worked. His parents let him adopt Big Jim.
Since then, Big Jim has been having a ball: getting lots of attention from Jack and his older sister, Ann Marie. And, although Big Jim is small in size, he is a great play pal for his much larger, big sister Sally, a Labrador-golden retriever mix. She was also adopted from our Golden Valley location. And ever since he pleaded his case and made the commitment, Jack has held up his end of the deal: making sure that Big Jim is well-cared for in his new home.

Bella's Success Story

We don’t always get what we want – but sometimes we get something even better. Such is the case with Bella. In early 2009, Christina and her parents went to the Animal Humane Society in Woodbury to meet a beagle that Christina saw on the website. By the time they got there, he had already been adopted by someone else.
Christina was disappointed that she didn’t get the dog she wanted, but continued looking at the other dogs available for adoption. She walked down the row of kennels and in the very last one was a miniature pinscher wearing a multi-colored sweater. When she visited with the little dog, Bella immediately jumped up in her lap and started giving her kisses. Christina loved how affectionate she was and knew she had a lot of love to give. Since this would be her first dog, she wanted to be 100% sure this was the right decision so she went home to think about it. It didn’t take her long to realize Bella was the one and was back only thirty minutes later to adopt her!
The first few months with Bella were not without their challenges. Bella experienced some health problems and was not house trained. With a little patience and a lot of love, Bella is now doing much better and is house trained. Christina wants to remind others to not overlook dogs with health or house training problems. With a little help they can overcome their issues and will give back so much in return. Bella has brought so much joy to Christina and her family. She loves to go on walks, play with her toys, have her belly rubbed, and look outside from her window seat. Christina may not have gotten the dog she came for that day, but now she knows she got something even better in Bella.

 

Astrid and Fiona's Success Story

When Janelle started working as a volunteer for our Adoption Preparation program, her husband made her promise she would not adopt any more cats. They already had two at home. But Janelle fell in love with Astrid and Fiona, two females from a litter of unsocialized kittens. Janelle and the other staff work with shy and fearful cats to get them ready for adoption through behavior modification techniques and lots of TLC. Astrid was the most fearful of the bunch, while Fiona was the most secure. They tugged at Janelle’s heartstrings, and she just had to take them home.
Now, life couldn't be better for the pair. Their older sister, Sammi, is like a surrogate mom to them.  Sammi will put her arm around Astrid and groom her.  They sometimes fall asleep wrapped together like that.  Older sister Zoe tolerates the twins as they shoot  around like little rockets.  They keep everyone laughing with their antics.  Fiona and Astrid have come a long way.  They used to be terrified of all the noises in the house.  Now they have the run of the place: hanging out on the back of the couch, checking out the birds, squirrels and chipmunks, watching the animal channel, and playing laster dot tag every day.
